Coming back to F-150.
So funny story..I'm actually a Parts Manager for the local Ford dealership and decided to come back to a f-150 after being back in a chevy.
The new 5.3L ecotec is a flat joke.
I'm torn between two trucks we have on our lot I can get.
First is a full supercrew xlt fx4 with the 5.0L. It also has the 302A package which is nice.
Second is a Lithium Grey Supercab xlt. 2.7L. with the 301a package.
I can live without the xm radio..although remote start, power seats, and rear sliding glass on the 302a is nice.
The Lithium truck has the ford accessories bed liner, rubber floors which is nice. It also has the UGLY 20s which would need to go asap.
So I'l be posting a build thread soon...just gotta decide which to go with...about a 5k difference for the supercrew. Drove home the lithium for a test drive for this weekend.

I've found that a Super Crew with a 5 1/2' bed, but a huge passenger area, is better suited to my needs than my previous Supercab with a 6 1/2' bed and a relatively small back area.
After 6 years of loading the back seat, with the opposing doors, in a normal parking spot at a store, I decided that it was a PITA. Try putting a shopping cart between those doors.
Other than that, the Supercab was a fine truck.

That was the conclusion I came to as well. The amount of room in the super crew is amazing!

The extended cab/crew cab is totally subjective and based on your own needs. I have a family, which is why I went SCREW, and haven't been in a situation where I needed more than a 5.5' bed.
To me the 302a package is a very nice upgrade too, that alone is worth it.
And what's wrong with the 5.3 ecotec? I have my own issues with GM, but they've always made good engines and IMO the latest 5.3 is no exception.

The interior room in the Super Crew can't be beat in any rig with a truck bed attached. Ok, a 5.5' or 6.5' bed, then... lulz.
I'd do the 2.7 *only* if fuel mileage was your primary criteria. Everything else? 5.0 + Super Crew ftw. The four-cam four-valve forged-crank V8 is a masterpiece in itself.
