Lightbulb Chrome removal?

Im just wondering if anyone knows how i can remove the chrome off the bumpers, i heard of a couple of ways to do it and wanted some opinions, theres the whole sanding it off method that just sounds a little time consuming and i've also heard of a way to chemically remove the chrome with hydrochloric acid any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

I don't think you can simply remove it because it's electroplated on there. Best bet would be trading someone or just getting some sandpaper and roughing it up before painting.
