The purge valve is a common problem with Fords. I'm thinking the valve is out of range, thus needing replacement. This code usually goes away with this part. I just replaced one recently. F7UZ-9C915-DA was the Ford part number

Default P 405 engine code.

I have not solve the P405 engine light problem yet. I have change the EGR
valve 2 times, the DPFE sensor twice, both of the other sensors and still
when the temperature gets above 40 deg, the light will come back on.
I do see some moisture in the vacuum lines when I have check them
before re-setting the engine code.
the engine runs good, and I do not see any carbon build up in the
throttle body.

Any ideas?
