WHere did you find this information? I'm looking everywhere to see if the 2017 2.7l Ecobeast is a chain driven oil pump..

Where can I find this information I've been in question about mine being that it's almost hit 100k miles and it's making me nervous thinking it could go out.

I don't think the belt driven oil pump is enough a problem to worry over. Wet belt drives have been in use a long time, in a variety of makes. Gen 1 and Gen 2 info is easily found on the internet. 2015-2017 Gen 1 has DI, chain driven oil pump, a single piece intake manifold and separate cam covers. 2018 and up Gen 2 use DI and PI, EGR, cam covers integrated with lower intake manifolds with a separate upper intake manifold. and the belt drive oil pump. Knowing how brands want to show constant improvement, Ford likely underrated the previous year[s] so they could improve the following year[s]. Thats MY assumption.

There’s no reason to underrate when there’s competition out there to go against.

Depends what the comps ratings are at the time. Always want to leave room for improvement and gain if possible with nothing real in foreseeable future.
