It really is as easy as the guy in the video demonstrates. I don't think this spray-on ceramic is as durable as the dealer-applied stuff, but it's pretty impressive.

This is probably a dumb question but how do you guys reach the middle sections of the hood/roof when you apply these products? I did an old-school Turtle Wax on mine a few days after I bought it and even standing on my 6' ladder I could barely reach some of the spots. Is there some obvious trick I'm missing?

I've since been reading up on all these new products. Dang, they can get pricy. I ended up buying a bottle of this Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic and put it on my wife's car last weekend. Seemed to work pretty well and I want to redo my truck with it soon.

I just spray a fine mist over everything. Everything. Glass and all. Use a small step ladder for the roof. Only takes a few ounces to do a vehicle.

Wifey's car. Moon roof and all.

I open the doors and am just able to reach center of roof standing on the door sills. Hood, use a step stool. Center of windshield, I stand on the doorsill, hold on to the grab handle, and barely get it.

I open the doors and stand on the door sills for the front of the roof. Stand in the bed for the back half. For the hood, I can usually reach the whole thing without standing on anything, but standing on the front tires makes it much easier.

I used to just buy quick detailer. Any brand will do. Now I mix my own clay lube and quick detailer using Optimum No Rinse in a spray bottle. Much cheaper and that one product has tons of other uses also, depending on what ratio you dilute it to.

I've used several different ones, Griots, Meguiars, etc., and the one that I've settled on and now use all the time is Chemical Guys Clay Luber. Have found it to work better than any others I've used. I also prefer Meguiars Professional Detailing Clay over any other I've used.

I've had one of these for years and use it every time I wash or detail any of my vehicles. For that section of hood you mention, I typically rest one hand on the windshield cowling while washing or polishing with the other. They typically run these on sale on Black Friday for around $20. Worth every penny, even at full price.
