Haha Oh, how I love the Internet.. Only there would a guy have to defend why hes upset and bitching about his hours being cut.

In the span of one thread, its been implied that I'm a socialist French Canadian who is part of the cause of the government ruining the economy because I actually financed a truck.

All because I was upset over hours being cut! I cant imagine how we lived life before the Internet, it makes people so nice.

But, its my fault, I put my business on here, I figured this forum would be different than a standard video game forum, but alas, even "grown ups" feel the need to make waves.

Talk amongst yourselves, Ill stick to asking truck questions and looking at pictures, Ill leave the rants to the golf course, seems better all around that way .

No one is putting you in a position where you need to "defend yourself".

You're claiming the high road now, but you started out on the much whinier low-road.

Had you actually, as you claim in your last post, just posted and said that you had your hours cut and thought you might lose your truck - if that's actually all you had said - you would have got 50 replies sharing condolences, well wishes and even prayers.

The problem is you had to throw the company owner under the bus, implying that his greed was the only reason he got a new toy while you might be losing yours.

I guarantee you that he's feeling more pain from the economic down-turn than just the need to "get away from the stress" and "blow off some steam". If he's having to cut personnel and production, then he's watching the value of his company -the investment he built- dwindle down to the point where he's got to make cuts or risk losing it altogether.

I don't know what kind of operation you work for, but it probably took a lot of capital and years of toil for the owner to establish the business. If the business fails, he loses it all. Exactly how much did you invest in the upstart? If the company fails, other than a paycheck, what will you lose?

Perhaps the RV is his "back-up" plan.

I'm not saying that owners and CEOs are universally magnanimous. Sometimes they do make greedy and self-serving choices, but that's their prerogative. If you don't like the way they do things, you're free to work somewhere else.

Allowing ourselves to think that our boss or our government owes us anything can be a slippery slope. Think like that long enough and they will become one in the same. Soon enough, we'll find out that we're French, or Canadians or, worse yet, French-Canadians.

Seriously, though, sorry about the tough times. I hope things get better for you.

I know I said I would not post in this thread again, and I seriously planned not to, but I had to comment on this part at least.

Trust me, I do not throw anyone under the bus that doesnt deserve it. Granted I didnt get into details about the company, because I was RANTING, letting off steam, I even ended my post stating that it was a whine, because yes I was whining over losing my hours. But trust me when I say, if this person were a geniuine good hearted soul that I knew was doing what was best for the company as a whole, I would not say a single negative word about the man.

I will unsubscribe so that I am not tempted to post again

But the fact is that the "owner who has poured his heart and soul" into the company, actually does no such thing. We are not given benefits, the company is ran as if it is being planned to go out of business at any time. No employees ever get raises, and the person whom I should feel sorry for because of the current economy, showed no love to any employees when times were good, and the business was booming (which incidentally has not changed, the only thing thats changed is the cost of fuel).

As far as choosing to work there, not sure if youve watched CNN lately, but jobs arent exactly a dime a dozen right now. This job doesnt even pay that well, but because the company chooses to pay lower salaries, I was allowed overtime every week, to which it was stated to us multiple times, that it was "guaranteed hours" hence the comfort of buying a truck. It was a choice, be willing to put in the hours to get a nice paycheck, or work 2 jobs, at least with this one I was told the hours were guaranteed.

But apparently the guaranteed hours were taken away, with no warning. Should the guy sell of his stuff? Of course not. Could an email be sent out saying that hours will be cut, make preparations? Woulda been nice.

As far as the industry, I work in the health care field, the one field that regardless of the economy, business doesnt slow down, because people dont wait for gas prices to go down before they get sick, its a never ending cycle (hence the surprise of cut hours, and the trust of guaranteed hours).

But thank you for the good wishes, they are appreciated. I will gladly step down off my high horse, and forgo any and all whining within this forum, as I would hate to cause anyone to feel my boss might get his feelings hurt on an Internet forum.

I got rich and SO CAN YOU!!! By placing tiny classified ads. By just placing 1 tiny ad and make $30 week profit you can take that ad and spam it all across the country! I made over $50K a week from my 1 room apartment by using the Making money package! My system will make you wish you did this 5 years ago.....

OK seriously had to lighten the thread up a little. I def had my fair share of working life ups and downs and am hoping the economy pushes allot more wealth distribution!

Good luck!
