Default Cat converter

My cat went on my 04 f150. Can I replace the cat with cold air intake and dual exhaust. If so what's the best way to go?

Umm... No a cold air intake isn't a replacement for a catalytic converter. A catalytic converter is a replacement for a catalytic converter. You can run dual exhaust but you will no doubt have check engine lights.

Federal law requires you to replace the cat. A lot of people can get by without them because they live in states without emissions testing, but it's still not legal. And as mentioned, you'll get some check engine lights unless you trick/disable the 02 sensors for the cats.

Intakes/exhausts are all pretty similar. Any name brand option is going to put up similar performance gains. Intakes don't offer a lot over the factory intake. A cat-back exhaust will give you more bang for the buck. As for brand, get on Youtube and see which sound you like best and get that one.

Whats your mileage? And Check your date of manufacture. Catalytic Converts are covered under the 8 yr/80,000 mile emission warranty.
