Default carport size?

Hey everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster here. After a long wait and saving up some extra coin, finally ordered a 2015 F150 Platinum with the towing mirrors and 6.5 bed. My next purchase is a stand alone carport WITH SIDES. Planning on like a 12x24. My question is if the 12 foot width will provide enough width to comfortably open doors to get in and out without dinging my shiny new truck? Does anyone have a 12 ft wide carport that wishes they had say a 14 ft? I am somewhat limited on space so can't just get wider than I need. thanks in advance for your suggestions

You should have enough room to get out if you pull more to the right side. 12 ft sounds pretty big but its not as big as it sounds once you pull a vehicle in.

My garage door opening is 9'....without folding the mirrors in i've got around 6" to 7" clearance on either side. You didn't specify if the new ride will be S cab or S crew. If it's a 6.5 bed S crew you will need every bit of 20' to squeeze it in.

I think he is more worried about the width than the depth. He is looking at 12' wide by 24 ft deep so depth isn't the issue.

If wider is available and you can afford it, etc., get wider.

You never hear anyone saying I wish I would have built a smaller garage, carport, anything... Its always the opposite.

Thanks everyone for the reply and the pic. Looks like I will def get the 14 width if I can. Just not sure if I'll have enough space available in that spot. I will definately try tho. I feel like I'm getting the baby room ready lol

Technically you are, she's your baby. I put that carport up not long after she got pelted with hail, still had the paper temp tag in the window and $2,200 worth of damage.

I said to my self that was never going to happen again, and the carport was born.
