Default Cargo/interior lights

I just put LED interior lights in my 09 XLT which look great, but before I changed them I didn't think to check how the incandesant bulbs worked and operated. I read the owners manual and it was unclear about this and I know I could change them back to see for myself, however I thought Id run it by you all and find out so I may not have to. I wonder why when the dimmer switch is not in the full right (on) position you cant turn the front map lights on by pushing the clear lens in?....and when you do have it in the full right (on) position the front map lights go on and click on and off by pushing the clear lens but why why does the cargo light go on also? Does this mean if your driving at night for example and you need to turn on the interior lights you have to freak people out with the cargo light being on....tell me Ford didn't do this and its because of my LED bubs. I guess if thats so I will be mounting a switch in line with the cargo light.
