Default Car wash damage

Well last Saturday the wife and I were on our way to a family gathering I stopped by my favorite car wash nothing better than cruising in your new truck with a fresh wash. we arrive at our destination I hop out and hear the wife say "OMG" I round the bed of the truck to see what she's looking at and i can already see the dent i say mut. In the picture you can see the scratches are in swirl and the door is pushed in and no longer aligned with the fender. I was sick to my stomach for awhile but i didn't let it wreck my day.

So the next morning i stop by the car wash ask for the manager to see if maybe there where reports of other damaged vehicles thinking maybe something came out of adjustment on the scrubbers or something. He says nope nothing, i tell him my problem, show my receipt, we go outside so he can take a look, walking up to the truck at 20ft away he says "thats not car wash damage" I show him the swirl scratches and he says "we don't have anything that spins like that" well after arguing i got nowhere! he was a d**k!! about it. Not sure what im going to do, or anything i can do. im going to get an estimate this week. Just thought i would share.

Doesn't really look like damage from a rotary car wash brush to me, either. It looks like your truck got keyed.

Bummer. If you still insist (and I could be wrong) that it was in fact the car wash, look up the next level supervisor or find out who owns the car wash and inquire with them. Hang on to that receipt and and photos with a time stamp.

If it was just scratches I could see it as wash damage, but it looks exactly like you got keyed with all that swirling in one spot and it just became visible when you washed off the stuff covering it. But even if it is wash damage, another reason I will never use an automated wash other than touchless. Only time mine gets touched when washed is when I do it by hand with a wash broom, which is as often as I can. Only time I use touchless is winter when away from home to get salt and road grime off.

Still suck big time tho, I feel your pain. I get pissed when I even get a tiny rock chip anywhere.

Looks like an idiot at the car wash forgot to cover his BELT BUCKLE!!! Most pro washes will have special belts and this fool was rubbing his buckle on your truck while drying it off. Notice the beginning scratches while worker was drying one spot then moved to cause the trailing scratch when moving the rags over.

Bummer deal and I would yell big time!

Its hard to see in the picture but where the swirl scratches are there is a dent and the door is pushed in, and does not line up with the fender anymore,
looking at it in person you can really see it. i would of noticed that i walked by that side of the truck 100 times that afternoon.

Is it the type of car wash were you sit in the truck as you pass through?? cuz no doubt you would of heard that damage ... Even if you let the car wash staff take it through I'm sure your wife would of seen that damage before she got in ..

My conclusion is something else happened what I dont know

Brother, I know that sux. But, I agree with some of the other post. It may be an assh**e with nothing better to do. If you have full insurance coverage, namely comprehensive. Your Insurance guy may take care of the damage. It still sux though. Good luck.

I agree. We have a brand new car wash here in Ft Lauderdale that I have used with no problems. My only problem is now that it's getting hot here, the rinse doesn't rinse good and with the heat, the truck looks worse than before the car wash. From now on, I do it myself.

Side note - I knew somebody who went through a car wash that had signs posted that they aren't responsible for damage. Long story short, they are responsible for any damage their equipment causes.

Sorry but anyone who takes a vehicle thru a carwash that uses brushes is foolish (not saying this is what happened to the o.p., just making a statement).
