k everyone just got my first truck back its a v6 89' f150 4x4 5 speed regular cab and shes seen better days but i just bought er back and wana restore it redo the interior new paint job sand er down lots or rust spots especially over the fender well was thinkn bout new engine or rebuilding it want more power tho any suggestions on engine size and also not sure what i should start working on first im deployed in afghanistan right now so in june of 2011 the operation will start n its going to be an all around build redo or make just about everything better and jus need to know the best are to start with and any good references preferably around ohio and kentucky im from ohio and stationed at ft Campbell anything will help look forward to ur comments thanx ill be stickn on her to update my progress n im sure ill have more questions thanx n god bless

 

Welcome. Your truck has a straight 6 or inline 6cyl NOT a v6. They usually have plenty power and run forever.(you can drop a 302 or 351w in fairly easy tho) So I would start with the cosmetics. You can find replacement fenders and parts a salvage yards(there are several in Clarksville TN) There you can also find good interior parts as well. Pics of your truck wod help the whole group get a better idea of what you have to work with.
