MERK? First of all it's "Merc" as in "Mercenary", as in "soldier for hire".
Second, mercenaries don't "Merk out" their vehicles. Have you ever seen a truck with multiple weapons systems used as a daily driver?
What's next, are we going to "Resident Evil" our Zombie Apocalypse bug out vehicle?

The phrase is one thing, but the actual act is what bothers me. It's just not unique anymore. However, blacking things out started in the 80s so I'm not sure it's going away anytime soon.
