A/C running with heat
hello,
for a while now ive noticed my air conditioning has been running while my heat was on. i guess i can relize it now because its cold and the A/C cycles on and off all the time. its not so bad but while driving you can feel the strain on the engine i was just wondering if any one else has either had this problem or at least heard of it. it does it on all modes A/C of corse but floor, panel, derfrost, ect. The truck is a 97' F- series with a 5.4 its got me beat so any help would be good help.

A/C will run when defrost is on, that is standard on any vehicle, regardless of make/model. That is so that you can defog the windshield and the A/C kinda acts like a dehumidifier in that regard.
As for the floor and vent/panel settings, that is something wrong with the wiring. Perhaps a short in the controls?
