Brake light dash

I have the brake light on the dash that keeps either coming on or staying on. Changed brake light switch with Motorcraft. Can Auto Zone read brake codes to 5ell me what it is.

Not sure how these are set up but in some vehicles it can be one of three things.
1) low brake fluid
2) emergency brake switch bad/stuck
3) ok, maybe just two

What year? Does pulling up on the parking brake pedal while pulling the release lever get rid of the light?

Sorry it is an 07 occasionally it will turn light off but comes back on will check fluid could it be switch on each brake but I 5hink that is for CC which works fine.
