Default Brake light

I have a question about a brake light on my 2007 F 150. Before I bought it I took it for a test drive and the brake light came on. I let the dealership know and they thought it was the emergency brake release and said they lubed it up. They took it for a ride and noticed that it was still "flickering" so they changed the emergency brake sensor. I came to pick it up and after driving about 4 miles it came on again. I immediately called the dealership and they told me to bring it in today. I thought I heard that there was a problem with the cluster on those years where the brake light just comes on or flickers. Can someone please confirm that? Also I should be able to make the dealership pay for it shouldn't I? Considering it was a problem when I first took it for a test drive and it came on. I paid cash for it so it didn't come with a warranty. But I can't and shouldn't drive it with the brake light on. What if something is really wrong with the brakes down the line and I just ignore it. It could hurt me or worse someone else. Thank you for any help you can give me!

Maybe.

Since it wasn’t sold with a warranty that would be as is and at their desecration since you already paid for it.

Worse case, you get a cluster on eBay and swap it. They’re easy.

it’s a well known problem. assuming they checked the system for actual brake related issues (i’m sure they did because that would be the easy fixes) it’s just the cluster connection issue.

When the light is flashing did you try lifting the park brake pedal to see if it stops?
