Bluetooth stereo head unit
Hey guys. Post thread number two for me super excited. I'm such a newbie.
Anywho on to business. My stereo head unit sucks so bad. When I hit bumps it pops out a bit and the music stops. I have an iPhone so I want one that bluetooths music to it. I saw one at best buy for $299 plus $50 for an install. But that is a bit steep for my cheap ***. Does anyone know a good unit that I could buy for less that will Bluetooth?

Ahhhhhhhh need help. My stereo was leaning back a bit so I took off the plate and stuff and took it out. Removing three l.e.d's that were not connected to anything. Then my alarm started going off and now that its all back together. The alarm went off when I turned the truck back on again and my stereo seams to have no power. What have I done?????

I don't know much about the 98 dash's, but the double DIN size took some cutting to put into my 2001.
Nothing major, but it definately takes some careful trimming of the face to make it look good. I mostly used a Dremel and sanding wheel to do my trimming on the front.
There was a plastic piece on the inside that needed cut away, but it easy to do.Then I simply screwed the metal chassis that the head unit slides into place for an extra secure mount.
Take your time and have some patience. The only other part I needed was an adapter wire harness I also got from Walmart. I had it wired up ahead of time, and it made it a simple plug in operation.

One suggestion I have is to purchase a head unit that does not have a CD/DVD player. I have one on my Pioneer head unit that I have used 2 times. I have a couple of iPod Touches, My Pioneer unit affords full control of the Touch, or any other iPod for that matter, from it's remote control. I also have several thumb drives which gives me over a 100 gigs of storage for music . If this is not enough the Pioneer will power and interface with up to a 120 gigs worth of portable storage both flash and Hard Drive. The newest units are even better. I have zero use for CD/DVD's with their puny storage space
