Question BFG 285/55/R20 on 2012 F150 Platinum 4x4 SuperCrew

hey folks,

Standard tire size on a stock (no level, lift etc.) is a 275/55/R20. I was looking at this website https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/, added my current size which is the stock 275 listed above and then added the 285/55/R20.

It seems that there is only a small difference in offset so I was wondering if I am overlooking something here and also to ask if anyone else has put the 285/55/R20 on as opposed to 275/55/R20?

Anyone gone bigger without mods needed or rubbing?

Those tires will fit easily on your 4x4 using the stock wheels. No leveling required. Only a little taller and a bit wider then the stock tires..if you go with the BFG KO2's they are LT rated D tires that will look and ride good. I ran some 305x55x20 Nitto's on my '11 4x4 at stock height (33.2x12.6) using the stock wheels..close due to tire width but no rubbing.

Thanks PawPaw - i appreciate the response. I think the additional width will look more rugged than the Pirelli Scorpion's I am running now.

I didn't think going bigger than the 285 would be good, but now you've mentioned the 305s! LOL - I'm going to do some more searching based on that!

305x55x20 Nitto Terragrapplers on my '11 Lariat 4x4...stock height on OEM wheels. Real close on the inside to the upper control arm but no rubbing. I later leveled the truck 2 inches.

Now that looks nice and chunky!! I've got to be careful because i have no option to level - the truck's roof is too close to the entrance of the garage!

I'd stick with the 285x55's then!
