Default Best tool box

I'm needing a low profile tool box for my truck. Both tractor supply and lowes kobalt tool boxes look like what I'm wanting but, I've read some mixed reviews about them. Does anyone have either of these boxes or recommend another low profile tool box? Thanks in advanced

I've outfitted over 100 trucks with Weather Guard boxes. They are the best , strongest box on the market. They are not the cheapest but if you need a strong box, they're it. If you don't, any box that is inexpensive will do

I have a UWS tool box that I bought at an H&H dealer. However it is the only toolbox I have experience with but it still works great. It's not waterproof but it has stood up to 3 large men sitting on top of it and it still works like a charm. Granted it is only like 6 months old.

Don't get a one from TSC they are far from good. Parents got me one for Christmas and we had to take the first one back cause it was allready bent like the whole door thing not even used yet. And the locks on it kinda suck too.

My experience

I've had a couple of UWS tool boxes and never had any complaints with them.

You're box isn't waterproof? Does it leak when it rains?

The best I can remember when I had my UWS tool boxes, they did not leak at all.

I have a Trailfx tool box on my truck. I have been very happy with it. I work oilfield and it gets used a lot. I probably open and close it 20 times a day with no issues. The lid is solid and is double layered. The hinges are holding up well. It does not sag and I ride on rough roads all the time. It does not get water in it from the rain either. Im not going to say it is as good as a weatherguard or a UWS because I have never had either. But considering it was only $400.00 installed I am very happy

Well technically It's not. I had a blanket in there at one point and after it rained you could feel it was kind of damp. It's really not bad though, I'm sure most tool boxes are like mine in that aspect.

I've got the low profile slim line UWS box. It allows me to put my essentials plus others in the box while still giving me room to load my quad and pull a trailer. I sent my first one back as it was bent. I wouldn't buy it if you are extremely hard on stuff but I haven't had a problem with it for what I paid!!! Perfect for me.
