Best Method to Ship Tires?

How far are you sending them (or receiving them)? Might be cheaper to just drive there and pick them up or drop them off. Or meet someone in the middle if it's a non-business transaction.

POST SUMMARY:
FEDEX Ground (on business account): $361
UPS Ground: $434 (must be boxed)
USPS: $464 (must be boxed)
FEDEX Freight Box: $240 plus fuel surcharge. I did not get a final price because you have to establish a separate Freight Box account versus LTL Freight. Must supply the pallet.
Fastenal: $155 (requires pickup and drop off at remote locations due to weight and fork lift availability) plus pallet. No insurance unless boxed
Bottomline: Not shipping

Those must be some unique special kind of tires to pay those kind of shipping costs.
