Default Bergey Ford

Anyone ever dealt with Bergey Ford in Pa. I am looking for a certified f150, they seem to have a lot of them. Second question, it seems as though a lot of them are from rentals but are still certified , should I be concerned ? Thanks in advance, Don

Never dealt with them. However, as far as car rentals they generally take pretty good care of them as far as maintenance. Their cars are their business so they need to maintain them. That being said, that doesn't mean the renters took care of them so you could be buying a well maintained car that was beat on quite a bit. Problems wouldn't arise until later in its life.

Thanks for the response makes sense, I just figured if they certified the truck they would be sure it was taken care of because it would cost Ford money down the rode with repairs, just thinking ????

Certified and having taken good care of the truck during its usage have zero connection. You should read what a certified truck is: http://www.ford.com/certified-used/

Every Ford Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle comes with:
• 12-month/12,000 mile comprehensive limited warranty coverage*
• Seven-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty coverage*
• A 172-point vehicle inspection.
• CARFAX ® Vehicle History Report

All you're getting is certification of the truck's current state. It could have been driven carefully by a 70 year old or beaten to hell by a 17 year old. Ford checks it, certifies it, and provides a warranty.

Any vehicle used for a rental is usually beaten.

I can't comment on the dealership, but I've purchased an SUV previously used as a rental, though. Bought it with 20k miles, drove it to 110k miles, and never had any issues with it.

If you can get an independent inspection of the truck done, I'd recommend that, but personally I wouldn't eliminate a car from consideration just because it was previously a rental.

Do people really beat the crap out of rentals these days? Last rental I had we had to sign so much paperwork, that I didnt dare abuse the car for fear of having to pay more when we took it back.

Yeah I feel like an economy car might get abused more but with a pickup truck most likely looking at trying to tow too much or overloading the bed. Which with the tow ratings these days they are super conservative. The power train warranty is the same whether new or used and you can buy a extended warranty from flood ford if you are that worried about it.

I dunno, I have a top-of-the-line F150 that only has less than 18k miles on it, and I beat the living crap out of it every time I drive it. The body and interior are perfect- not a single scratch, But I beat the h_ll out of the eng. & trans! WHEN I trade it off on the up coming Lightning, Somebody's gonna get what appears to be a low-mileage creampuff, that falls apart before their eyes. I've said before, I'll say it again- Buy'em new, beat the sh_t out of it, trade it off before the warranty's are up. Rinse and repeat.
