Default Bedrug Install...Help!!!

I'm in the middle of installing my Bedrug (well more so almost done) and i got to the tailgate portion. Does this thing need a tailgate seal to keep **** out from underneath the rug?! I have not attached the rug to the tailgate yet because it looks like i should put a seal in the tailgate lip. Let me know your guys thoughts. Thanks!

I installed one last week in my truck, with the factory step.....all I did (and the instructions stated) was to remove all the torx bolts, raise the "hand hold" and slip the bedrug down over the handle. I then tucked it under the front and back edges of the plastic "plate" lined up the holes and reinstalled the bolts.....once the bolts were tightened, everything fit perfectly.

I never put a tailgate seal. But then again my bed rug was always dirty underneath. Eventually had to replace it with a bedliner.

I assume you must have a tailgate step? I'm talking about the actual gap between the bed and the tailgate...

The tailgate seal is part of the actual tailgate portion on my bedrug...it zips to the other portion (the part that covers the bed) Once it's zipped together, the bedrug is essentially one big piece.

I ended up buying a rubber seal because otherwise i'm sure dirt and crap would get into the truck bed or under the liner.
