bedliners
just got a new 2017 F150, did not come with a bedliner. any thought on a plastic bed liner or spray on liner? I am thinking of using a spray on liner, but just coat the bottoms, not the sides.
Thanks

I like a plastic liner. It's far easier to dent a bed with a spray in. I also like the way things slide on a plastic liner. It makes loading heavy objects easier.
My 1994 truck has had a plastic liner in it since new. Other than a little rubbing on the high spots, my bed still looks close to new.

Mine came with the plastic liner.... pulled it the 2nd day I owned it!
It was loose and sliding around... did quite a bit of paint rubbing in the 168 miles it was back there.
I replaced it with the rubber mat, and am pretty happy so far, the added 100 lbs was nice too. Took a little bounce outa the rear, and helped in the snow.
Thinking long term about getting a spray-in.....but have a Tonopro Tonofold on it so you cant see the bed (probably why I haven't dropped the $$ on it yet)

If you aren't going with the spray bed liner, I would suggest not doing the drop in plastic bed liner route. Instead, if you don't want the spray in, I would say look into the Bedrug Impact mat. It has the same textured feel as a spray in liner but just covers the bottom and is a quick and easy install.
Let us know if you have any questions on it, hope that helps!

Buy what you need...
People say drop-in bedliners are not good because they cause the bed to rust (water getting inbetween), but there are no proof of that. Remove the drop-in bedliner of a 15-20 year old truck and check the metal condition. You will see.
You can also find cheap second-hand bedliners on craigslists (50-100$).

I have both, the ford spray in and the plastic drop in. Reason is, that i want something under the drop in to protect the paint from moisture and friction the drop in causes. I like the fact that things slide around on drop in and have a hook that i use to pull things to me without having to climb up which is a bit hard to do on the nonslip spray in. And if a can of paint leaks on me, it's easy cleanup.

Mine came with a spray in and I added the rubber ford floor mat. I'm realistically a full plastic shell person myself.
