So I have a 2013 f150 xl rwd single cab long bed that I want to swap to a short bed and from what I’ve read is that they have the same wheel base am I able to swap beds easily or will I have to cut the frame and do major fab work? My bed is 8ft looking to go to 6.5ft

 

OK, no matter what you think the only bed you can put on that truck without cutting it in the middle and gluing it back together is another 8 foot bed or you can have a 1.5 foot gap between the cab and bed. I don't even want to know how you figure because it is the same wheel base it would work, you have 3 different cab configurations and 3 different beds sizes that can all fit the same wheelbase but are not interchangeable between the 3 without the other component to match.

 

I kind of figured but wanted to be sure, just picked up at single cab long bed for basically nothing but I think it looks weird so it was a Hail Mary oh well. Thank you for the info!

 

And you'd probably want something more substantial than glue. I'd use Gorilla tape.
