OK so im looking in to buying a campershell and all the places i call tell me i have a 78" or 6.5' bedbut when i put the tape measure to it it comes out 83" what gives

 

According to a couple of sites I found, including the one listed below, your truck has a 6 and 3/4 foot bed. Which measures at 6'9". Take your truck to one of the locations and ask them to measure it for you, that would probably be the best way to get an accurate measurement.
