Default Bed bolts

I purchased a used bed to replace mine. They cut the bolts off underneath on the bed i purchased leaving the head still there.. the bolt is loose, bit for the life of me I can not pull it out. It comes out about and 1-1/2 and stops..it just spins around in the hole.

Does anyone know why rhe cut of bolt should not just pull straight out?

Thanks!

i don’t know, but if it pulls up that much can’t you hold head up (maybe with vice grip) and then cut it with a sawZall? Would think it would drop out bottom st that point?

please post up with how it goes, I’ve never pulled one yet, but have also read some tough tales (on the other hand, some are successful easily/quickly). Good luck

Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location (nearest city) in your profile & upload an avatar of the truck. The more pics you post of the truck, engine, wiring, labels, & undercarriage, the more likely we can help you. Not all its details are relevant to these issues, but you don't necessarily know which ones are relevant, so just put everything in now. There have been several changes to the way the bed is mounted over the run of F150 production (beginning in the mid-70s) and all of them are being discussed here. So until you fill in your signature, we can't know how your truck's bed is supposed to be attached, or why the fastener won't come out.

Can't you see the bottom of the bed where the other end of the bolt is?

You posted in General so we can't even guess at what you're working on.

Here is the link to the Signature page that is hidden in Steve83's post.

Is that spray-in bedliner? It may be on the bolts' shanks.
