Started making a tapping noise for a couple days. Got my bud from the shop in my truck crusing and self medicating while trying to figure this noise out.. Than out of no where bboooommmm. Blown up rear end at 88k.. (I am on 38x15.50s..) So either going to rebuild it or get anothe rear end. Not cheap anyway I go about it. Not sure about a locker for a daily driver. Some kind of posi tho for sure. So the few hundred bucks i have set aside for the dreaded spark plug change and coil change is now going to this. Sucks. Gotta pay the price to ride big I suppose. The guys at the shop all got a good laugh.

is your ring and pinion good......if so

find some used spider gears... and that shaft that broke... add the new spider gears.. and that shaft.. and weld that shaft in place... and go with it...

i did that on my 98 f150 and it was fine... when i re geared i sold that rear end to my neighbor and he still uses it and its been like that for 5 years
