Default Backup Lights

Did a search and came up empty, is there a decent revers light that I can add to my truck. The reverse camera is nice during the day but at night there are a lot of shadows right where the hitch is and it is hard to see the hitch and trailer tongue. Thanks.

Turn on the cargo lights to turn on the trailer assist light.

No such light on my truck, I have the cargo light and the license plate lights and the reverse lights mounted in the tail lights, there is a major shadow cast right where the trailer hitch and tongue line up and it is very difficult to see the two as they come together.

I was hoping that someone had installed an aftermarket light that they would recommend.

Any weatherproof 12V light will work, but I like these cheap slim 18W LEDs for just about everything:

Some sellers offer them in bulk, so I think last time I bought 4 pairs for ~$8/pr. The price has come down since then. The only catch is that the lenses are NOT sealed to the cases, and water can get behind them. So I've sealed my others with clear E6000.

I replaced the two screws that hold your license plate to truck with two bright led lights. They hold the plate plus give you brighter back up light.

I did this temporarily before I grew a set and cut into my bumper, over a year later I still have them because I kind of like them. I do plan on cutting the bumper and installing flush mounts though..

Diode dynamics brighter reverse LEDs, LED strip on taigate (mostly aesthetic), and some LED lights I drilled into my hitch. Wired using an automotive relay w/ reverse hot from taillights to 86 on the relay.

Helps a ton with my 20% tint

I use diode dynamics reverse lights. They are pretty bright.

Thanks for the replies, do you use the relay because the current draw is too high to just tap into the reverse light circuit?
