Question Backup camera beep- turned ON

I have a 2014 that does not have the LCD screen or a parking aid switch. However, it did come with a backup camera. I need some advise on how to turn on the beep alarm to notify me of objects within so many feet. I see many individuals turning them off, but I prefer to have mine on. Thanks in advance!

unless you have rear park aid you do not have the back up alarm. And it is defaulted to on.

Do you have the sensors in the rear bumper?

No, I don't have the sensors, just the factory installed camera. Are the sensors available for purchase, if that will initiate the alarm?

I always thought the camera couldn't be added unless the bumper sensors were also included. But one could have the sensors and no camera.

Good luck with that.

you would need a lot for that to work.

You need this kit to add the sensors:

https://camera-source.com/products/r...nsor-kit-truck

Comes with 4 sensors and the electronic box that controls everything. Has a very small speaker that mounts under the dash so as objects approach various zones the tone changes. This kit is as close to OEM as you can get, made by Advent (PSD-100 and PSD-200 included in kit).

Thank you for the kit link. However, I wouldn't be comfortable drilling holes into my bumper. Has anyone tried the hitch sensor by Echomaster? Pros/cons?
