Default Back-up Camera

Just got a 2011 F150, no backup camera. Anyone know if Ford dealer can install after market, or maybe third party items out there that are pretty good.

Thanks

Do you have a display of some type to show the camera feed on?

I was surprised how nicely removing the rear headrests improved rear visibility.

Subscribed to the rear camera install.

No, the truck does not have any backup camera installed, and was asking of anyone knows a good after market one.

There are several kits available... Look for 170 degree of view or more. I prefer it is tied in to the head unit but thats me. If your future holds a new Video head unit then I would pick Clarion. If you get e rear view mirror mount get a smaller one the mirror will not hold a big one... Or better get a full replacement mirror with it built in to it. Stay away from the real cheap stuff after about $150.00 the price is about right for a kit. If you opt for just a camera and mirror not in a kit figure a good camera is about 75.00 and a good mirror is about 100.00... If you get cheaper it will really be cheaper and hard to see. Mine came with factory but have installed about 25 backup camera systems. You will want to add more backup lights if you backup alot at night. Several other forum memebers besides me have done this....

I had a Nav R3 installed in my tailgate and wired to a Panasonic 3300BT multimedia center for my '03 Scab Lariat. I love it. I had to have it all done for me, but it looks almost like a factory item. The camera has IR lights built into it and gives great visibility back about 12-15 feet at night and to a much lesser degree double that distance. The daytime imagery is sharp and clear for a remarkable distance, however at twilight or in deep shadow it is difficult to see: it is too bright for the IRs and not light enough for the regular camera.
