Default axle assembly question

does anyone know how to put the c clip back in the hub after completing a axle assembly replacement - on a 1993 ford f150 4x4 302 v8 i am having a problem getting it back into place - either the axle is to short now or i am doing something wrong - any help would be greatly appreciated

you have to use a crowbar on the back of the shaft near the u-joints.. push the shaft forward with the bar enough so that you can put the clip on. Its a two person job usually

I always reached my hand back there and grabbed the axle by the u-joint and pulled the axle toward the hub. It's not hard at all to get it to slide out enough to put the c-clip on the end of it.
