Average MPGs
Recently bought an F-150 and still learning a little bit about them. I have a 2009 FX4 screw w/ 6.5 ft bed. I'm averaging about 14MPGs city? Is that normal for my truck? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
Depends where you live. The window stickers say 14/19 I think.
'12, 5.0, Supercrew, 4x4 here.
I average ~13MPG 100% city driving in a college town. Approximately 3 stop lights per mile on average I swear and a lot of parking lot driving (finding spots to park on campus, parking garage, etc).
However, I drove from Oklahoma City to Norman this morning and managed to get 24MPG on highway, couldn't believe it! I took a pic showing the fuel history and last 30 mins because I was so impressed.

I have a brand new 2012 F150 SuperCrew 5.5' bed with the 5.0L engine. I filled it for the first time on Saturday. The first tankful averaged 18.23 mpg. I was elated! Between idling and setting up the Sync, short trips to show everyone I could think of the new beast, and a little bit of highway I was impressed. I don't really go by the computer, I just fill up, record the mileage on the trip odometer, and record the amount of fuel I purchased to assess the figures.
According to the computer, on the second tank it showed mileage of around 23 mpg while I was driving. Again I was happy, yet I'll wait till I fill up to recalculate. I have used that method since I started driving 27 years ago, and find it to be the most accurate.
But I'm happy either way. I'm not really worried about the mileage as I bought it to tow trailers and haul my quad from time to time. Other than that, he's just a town truck and a cruiser. But 4x4's have improved a million times from the trucks I drove back in the day!

24? Holy crap. I think the best I ever did was 17.8 highway. That's at 65-70mph though. I put on a k&n intake and cat back duals but besides performance they don't help too much. Good know that I'm not the only one sucking gas like its cool. Thanks for the replies.
My brothers 2012 fx4 5.0 driving around town he gets 11.5mpg
My Co's 2012 4x4 xlt 5.0 gets 16mph and his wife 2wd on highway gets 20
