Please don't flame me as I have searched and not found the solution.

First off, I have a 2012 SCREW with SYNC and an Android phone

My issue is, I want to start "Bluetooth Audio" without the music player starting. Why on earth would you want that? I hear you saying. Because I want to have Google maps over Bluetooth and not (to always anyway) the music.

I found a setting for Autoplay but it does absolutely nothing. It seems to be "OFF" (I don't see the word "ON") anywhere. I've tried the phone settings and Poweramp (music player) settings. Nothing works and it's driving me nuts. I can't turn off media in the phone Bluetooth settings because, then, Google won't work

 

Was it something I said? Over 200 visits and not a single reply. Someone out there must have, or has solved, this issue.

I don't have a solution. But I too hate that it always starts playing music when I select Bluetooth media input.

 

It's incredible that there seems to be no solution to this. It's so **** annoying

 

Do you have the radio source set to your phone through Sync? I usually use XM and haven't had it do that, although I could see it automatically starting it up if you have the source set to the phone when you get in

 

That's what causes mine. But I can only get my phone's map directions through the truck if it's set to Bluetooth input. But changing the input to BT instantly turns on the Phones music player.

 

Withe stereo totally off... If I want to use Google maps through the truck speakers I select BT Audio via Sync. The second I do that, the music player (doesn't matter which I have active) launches and plays. I have AutoPlay set to "Off"

 

I actually like that feature, but I can see in your situation where it can be annoying. I get annoyed when I get in my truck and select bluetooth audio and it DOESNT auto start where I left off.

I didn't see what year you had of F150. I have Sync3, which doesn't operate the same way as yours as far as I know. Sorry if I derailed the conversation
