Audio control LCQ-1 help!
I have a 2013 f150 with the 4.2 inch stereo with sync. I recently had the lcq-1 installed and it induced wavering hiss at low volumes. It sound like a turbo jet aircraft if anyone is familiar with that high pitch whine. I can get rid of the hiss by turning the amp gains down, but then my speakers sound like they aren't amplified at all. I'm considering replacing the lcq-1 with the audison bit one, but I'm not sure that I have the expertise to properly utilize its capabilities. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If you had it installed at a shop, then they should fix it. However, if you want to try yourself, check the following:
1. Where do they have the power wires run for the amps and for the LCQ-1?
2. Where do they have the RCA wires running from the LCQ-1 to the amps?
3. If the answers to #1 and #2 are close to each other or touching each other, then there is your problem.
You are getting interference from "engine noise" through the power wires into your RCA signal wires. They must be kept as far apart as possible to avoid this problem.
I've had the LCQ-1 in a prior truck and had no issues with it. I did the install myself and keep those wires as far apart as possible from end to end of those wires. Anytime they get close and there will be noise or static or interference of some sort.

The wires are not run near each other. They are on opposite sides of the truck. Also, the hissing noise doesnt change with the rpms of the truck so I think I've eliminated engine noise. The guy at the shop also said that it isnt a noise floor issue. The installer is very reputable and he has built multiple show cars for Jl, Stinger, etc. He said that he has used audio control for the past 20+ years and has never encountered this issue.
I have an LCQ1 and there is zero noise. Check your jumper settings and make sure you have a perfect ground for the LCQ1 and your amps.
