Apparent Computer Issue - Anyone have ideas?
A couple weeks ago my 2018 F150 started to turn off the radio when I turned the truck off, rather than continuing to play until the door is opened. I read in this forum that often indicates the battery is starting to have issues, and since it was over 5 years old I bought a new one and installed it. I did the press the brake 5 times and flash the brights 3 times hack to reset the battery monitor, and that worked fine. Everything was fine with the truck for about two weeks until today. When I shut the truck off at the store the radio stopped again before I opened the door. Then, on the way home, I stopped at an intersection. When I started to drive through the intersection the truck came to a stop with a message on the dashboard that read "Drive Mode Unavailable". Then it quickly cycled through a number of message about traction control, 4 wheel drive settings, and other drive-related settings, and the truck went back into gear and I was able to drive home. The radio still turns off when I shut the truck off. Has anyone else had a similar experience, any ideas on what the issue might be?
Thanks,
Dave

low voltage can do weird things. I would double check battery connections and then either monitor alternator output via an obd2 device or have it tested (they should be able to test it on the truck with it running). A bad battery off the shelf is also within the realm of possibility so I'd definitely check voltage and charging to be sure
