There's a thread in general F150 Discussion called "Easy Flag Mount" started by MikeFresno. I do the same thing as him, just search and you should find it!

I found it and it looks like a pretty easy setup, if that works with my '06 tailgate then I'll definitely give it a try

I think I remember him saying he used to use it on an 04-08 F-150, but I'm not 100% sure

Edit: I just checked, he used it on his 04 F150
