Question Any issues I should expect with a muffler swap?

I have a MagnaFlow muffler (part #: 12249) that I would like to put on... I have been reading how messing with the exhaust can cause issues with sensors and other things. I guess (clearly I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to exhaust mods).
Are there any problems that would come up if I installed only a new muffler?
Also would this void my warranty with Ford?
thanks for any advice.

Schock you will have no issues with O2 sensors by swapping out the muffler. Being that this muffler is a 3” muffler, you will have to get an adapter for the inlet to mate to the stock piping which is smaller. You should have a 3” tailpipe.

My advice would be to take the truck to a muffler shop, have them cut off the piping after the 2 bolt flange, remove it, leave the 3” tail pipe(if equipped, and install a piece of 3” tubing from the 2 bolt flange to your muffler.

Yes, there will be problems. You will love your truck more and your right foot which will cause it to use more gas
On a more serious note. Putting the muffler on will not mess up anything but if you are just installing a muffler. The aftermarket muffler may not be the same length so you might have to add some pipe to make it work plus an adapter because stock pipe is not a 3" pipe.

And, you run the chance of having drone with some aftermarket mufflers. Some MagnaFlows have been known for that. Best bet would be a Borla, Corsa full system, but $$$.

I wouldn't expect too much drone, if any, with the 12249. Seems to be relatively popular since it's such a cheap swap for relatively good quality.

FWIW, the Borla Pro XS costs the same as the Magnaflow. It's when you look at a Borla or Corsa cat-back or full exhaust that things get more expensive. If you're looking for better sound, just weld in either a Borla or Magnaflow muffler. It will sound great for short $s.

One major issue with installing a muffler on an ecoboost is the forum members will have zero respect for you.

If you drive an ecoboost and are okay with nobody liking you -install the muffler and carry on.

You realize they went to a sealed bearing on those now, no way to grease them anymore
