Default Another shudder question

New to the forum and happy to be part of the community!
As the title states, I have another shudder question that I am stumped with. I have a 2016 Lariat with the 5.0 6spd tranny. Like many of these trucks I have the shudder and it happens sporadically at any speed or gear. The odd part is that it only happens once the motor and transmission are up to temp. There is zero shudder or 5-3 squawk when I first start it up and drive for a handful of miles. Once the temp gauges reach the half way point on the dash I start to get the shudder/rumble strip feel.
It’s super annoying and none of my previous ideas have helped which include wheel alignment/balance, ball joints, cv axles, etc.

Has anybody else had this issue? Or found a solution? Hoping it isn’t a failing torque converter. Thank you all!

For starters, you need to get the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) read. Autozone and others do this for free.

There are no codes detected on the scanner

all seems to check out as far as I can tell. The shudder also happens when using cruise control on the highway. Sport mode just delays the shudder to a different speed range. Might try dropping the pan and replace the filter.

1 of my 16's recently (6 months ago )had a shudder......... intermittant & it would come for say 5-6 seconds & go ......fix was to replace filter & pan fluid only ...A shudder/stutter additive was also added @ this time.....
Has had no issues since....but I can tell you it did cause a tire vibration also that got worse as weekes went by!!

Hondo23...
Vehicle Information: Miles? Driving - Normal, tow, off-road?

When (if ever) has the transmission fluid been flushed or pan-drop-refilled (with filter change)?

Perchance it's time for transmission maintenance.

Well I eliminated a couple other possible culprits including spark plugs and COPs. So on my way home from work I stopped at the auto parts store and picked up a pack of the Lubegard shutter additive. Easy to use through the transmission dipstick located on the passenger side of the transmission. After reinstalling the bolt, I took it for a drive and had immediate results. The shudder is completely gone and it also eliminated the 5-3 downshift squawk I was experiencing. The fluid on my dipstick was pretty brown and smelled burnt so I will forsure be dropping the pan and replacing the filter. I’ll do that every so often until I rid it of all bad fluid. Hopefully the transmission not too far gone and it can be saved. Thank you for all the input!
