Default Am I Doing this Correctly?

Yesterday i asked about why my truck would have sluggish power starting off from a dead stop or from rolling, and i thought it was because i disconnected my battery for a minute, earlier in the day...
Today i asked a mechanic about it and he said it is typical of these trucks and that i had to reset it. He told me to start up the truck, idle for 3 minutes, then hold the brake while in drive for 3 minutes, and then drive around for 3 minutes, at the end of which shutting it off. I've tried this a few times and its seemed to do absolutely nothing...
Any suggestions??!
Thanks

I don't want to bash your local mechanic, but that routine sounds like my drive to work. If that was the procedure to reset the truck's computer then mine would have been reset many times by now. unplug your battery for a good 15-30 min then plug it back in again. that should reset your computer. I think. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

To reset the computer i usually unhook both battery cables.... while there unhooked i clean both cables and battery ...while there unhooked turn the headlights on for a few mins ... Also be sure you dont have any thing hooked into the cigarette lighter .... leave the cables unhooked for atleast 15 mins

What you said there sounds like the relearning process he was trying to tell you..

after cables are hooked back up...

start and let it run intill it reached operating temps
let it run for 3 mins at normal temps
then let it run for 3 mins with the AC on
Then let it run for 3 mins while in drive with foot on the brake with AC off

LOL, I think your mechanic had a good laugh after you left.
