Default Alpharex Luxx Series

Has anyone tried the LUXX series from Alpharex. I like the Novas but man they are expensive and the pros seem like a pain trying to put LEDs in them. The LUXX seems like the perfect in-betweener but I haven't seen any reviews on it... Anyone heard anything on these?

Update: Nevermind, I'm dumb. I see now the Luxx has LEDs built-in and the PRO has H7 sockets for halogen bulbs. Carry on.

What's the problem with LEDs in the Pros? Spacing issues or something? Also, not sure what the difference is between the Pro and Luxx series.

I just opened two tabs on my browser, one with F150 Pro lights and the other with F150 Luxx lights, both 2018 year, and the only difference I see when switching from one tab to the next is the price changing. LOL. Literally, the main picture of the lights doesn't change from one tab to the other. If I were looking at those, I'd get the Pros and save the money difference and get HID/LED bulbs. I have similar projector lights and with HID low beam and LED high beams, I get tons of light output. Much much better than factory halogen for sure.

That's okay! I was going to do what you did with the pros but if the LUXX has some good reviews I may go with that. Nobody seems to know anything about them though which worries me. I know someone on this forum has to have them!

Personally, I would go with the PROs. If one of your bulbs craps out, its an easy peasy bulb replacement scenario. If one of the main LED elements craps out on the LUXX headlights, I'm not so sure that Alpharex will just send a replacement right away. Between troubleshooting and shipping/receiving it could be a little bit before you have working lights again.

That's a good point also. Can you tell the difference between colors of your hids and LEDs?

I can but I don't have these Alpharex lights on mine. I have Spec-D lights. Cheaper option. Morimoto XB 5500K HID in the low beams, and LED in the high beam projectors. Trying to match HID with LED is difficult. Plenty of light thrown sure but I can see the color difference between the HID and LED.

So just an update. I reached out to Alpharex for a few different reasons but I asked about the availability of replacement bulbs for the LUXX and Nova series and they said that they don't sell replacement chips but the LEDs are trustworthy and they do give a 2 year warranty on them. That alone worries me so I will most likely end up going with the pros and putting some LEDs in there. I can't decide which bulbs tho which I may start another thread about bc this one is not getting much traction.

I would've posted in the 15-20 section, maybe get some more replies. I havent read too much about these lights on here, which may be why you're not getting much feedback.
Also 2 year warranty sucks. The morimoto lights have a 5 year warranty and they are not serviceable either

I know the NOVA are expensive, but it's what I have on my truck. It is definitely worth it if you can save up the money. They look fantastic and the light output is amazing. I highly recommend them. I am sure the Luxx and Pro are great too, but the light from build-in LEDs and projectors is amazing. They beat even the Morimotos in light output.

I know I’m late to the thread but maybe someone owe will find this useful. I’d definitely consider the Luxx or Nova. I’ve had the Pro for about a year now. I tried about 5 different (ranging from Hikari to Morimoto) LED bulbs and found the light output terrible. I went with HID kits instead, which was much better but comes with its own problems (reliability, complexity, wiring, slow warmup etc). I recently ordered some Novas, which I should have just done from the start. I thought I could save some money… classic double-buy mistake.

I am happy with the headlights themselves. They seem good quality and I would recommend them. Only thing I’d change is that I would love to get rid of the startup sequence (it’s too flashy for my taste).
