Default alignment at home?

I looked at doing my alignment at home but it doesnt seem to have a "camber" kit just a straight thru bolt with a slot kindof. Do I adjust it in the slot buy camber kit go to an actual shop or what opinions please

I don't think an alignment is something one should try without an alignment rack.

I had a friend who had a tie rod break just before he arrived at work
He managed to drive it into the parking lot, did not want to have it towed
Bought the part, counted the screw turns & adjusted the new part same as the old
Told him to bring it to a shop to have it properly aligned
He went to his shop & they told him it was dead on...I got lucky
I've been working on cars for over 20 years, I don't mess w/front end alignment except in that scenario as a quick Temp fix to drive it to a shop

This is one of those questions where if you have to ask, you should probably take it to a pro.

That's not toe, that's camber. Toe is front and back, not top and bottom. If you are standing straight up and feet straight ahead then turn one of your feet slightly in or out that is toe. If you roll your ankle that is camber.

Toe is easy to do at home with nothing more than a couple of measuring tapes and flat edge. Camber is something different. It can be done, but is best done with a camber adjusting setup and even then only if you have more than a slight idea of what you are doing.

I have done my own alignment several times and had absolutely no issues. Even times having it checked and it being dead on. It is not some magical mystic thing that some can try to make it out to be. As some have stated though, if you are unsure in the slightest then I would take it to a shop.

My opinion is to use commas when listing options....

If you have to ask you probably shouldn't. It can be done, and if you want learn there are plenty of videos it there.

I would take it to a shop, but yes there are camber bolt kits you can get for the lca's. Specialty products makes one, as does moog.
