Default Alarm

What's a good alarm for my 09 stx f150? I'm not sure how the built in alarm works. Such as do you just have to activate it? Or do I need to get another alarm installed ontop of that?

I have a viper 5902 and love it! It just goes over the existing alarm.

I bought insurance. When alarms first became popular, people were getting beat up outside their own cars when they couldn't shut off their alarm in time. Now, an alarm goes off and no one cares. A neighbor of mine had an elaborate system in his. It also sent him a text or email. He was broken into twice, then the truck was stolen and never recovered.

An alarm may save kids from stealing CDs, smokes and change, but if someone really wants your ride an alarm is just another feature in their "new ride."

Yea good point. A house alarm went off a couple down from me the other day and I figured since no one else will go check I will. And sure enough I was the only one who made sure the people were ok and that it wasn't being robbed. I'm getting my windows tinted so maybe I will just use that as a semi alarm and make sure my insurance covers all the good stuff.

People get lazy these days... My dogs bark I get up and go have a look.... Alarm goes off I get up and go have a look... How does anyone expect to protect their crap if you never pay attention to the noisy crap you've procured as a means of alertness...
