Aftermarket Front Facing Camera
Hey guys im new the the forum and I was wondering if I can get some help. Im looking into a front facing camera. I already have the sony nav system with the touch screen and the OE back up cam. I have an A/V input in my center console and was wondering if I can directly hook a camera feed to that and view it on my screen. Obviously id be looking into a 12v camera so power is not an issue . Im just wondering if its that simple to plug and play a camera into the av jack and view it on my screen while driving.
Thanks in advance!

i don't think you'd see it driving because i think the video is turned off when in drive... could be wrong though

Get with these people https://camera-source.com/ they cater to just such a type of system, IIRC they have something called a lock pick that allows unlimited viewing under all operating conditions as well as additional camera install kits.

^ I looked on there, and only saw backup camera options.
Obviously a camera is a camera but, that's how they're being sold so
mounting options for the front are obviously not a consideration there.
One thing I've learned after my brother was beaten severely by a cop in our driveway
was to always have as much personal security on you 24/7 as possible and that includes
a DVR surveillance setup in your vehicles. Mind you, we don't live in the ghetto and he
is Caucasian and was in a 3 piece suit.
(Btw, cops own dashcam caught him and wireless upload at the station
and he's a 2x felon now.....however no camera, we wouldn't have had recourse)
I have Dash cams now in both our vehicles for under $100. however, I want better
so I'm investigating 4 camera option DVR's simply because......I don't trust everyone
in Govt or Police to be stand up honest people. This isnt exclusive to the Chicago burbs either.

You didn't look in the right place I guess, here's a link https://camera-source.com/automotive...ra-system.html
I my self have a 2 channel dash (front and rear facing) cam/dvr in my truck, runs 24/7/365. Love it.

You are correct.
I didn't delve into the Backup camera tab bar enough to see the front facing camera.
I just assumed it was all backup cameras .....they should fix that.
Glad to see you are protected. You need it in this day and age.
