That is a new one for me. I have never heard of any radio issues arrising. In all actuality, HID's only suck more juice on startup. Once they are heated up, they actually pull about 1/3 less power than a normal halogen bulb. Sorry, this is an issue I can not help you with.

Might be a ground wire is the only thing I can think of that may cause your radio to go a wall. Try a new spot for the ground wire for your HID's and see if that fixed it.

I've heard of this problem before but never with Retro's kits. I'd give them a call.

The ballasts you have are not/poorly shielded. That is common with the cheaper kits and even some of the higher end ones. If you digital you wont have the issue at all.

Where are the kits from??? The type of issue you have is textbook RF interference. I suggest to contact the seller....if they are actually digital there should be no RF issues.

well i emailed retro solutions and i got a response almost instantly...theese guys really impress me with the quality and service!! heres what he said for anyone wondering!!
"Brian,

This can happen sometimes from transient voltage on the supply, and usually the wiring harness is one fix for it. However, you already have this and it may be transient voltage through the relay's magnetic field. Before we think about in-line filters for this, I would recommend disconnecting one ballast at a time and see if this has any effect on the static at all. Static is normal during the ignition and ramp-up phase, however this should be gone during steady state operation.
