Default Advice

Okay so I am in the market for an F-150. I am looking for something 04-08 Supercrew and 4x4.
My main question is if you had to do it all over again what year vehicle would you get. There are problems with all vehicles and advice from everyone would be greatly apprciated on what to look for and avoid.

Thank you......vehicle geniuses!!!

I have had 4 F-150's and by far the best is my 08 FX4 ...don't like the 09/10 body style so I'll wait til they change...had to wait with my 96 too. Agree with AAK625 100%...

personally i think the best body styles are the '97-03' generation and before not a big fan of the newer styles. not saying i dont like the new styles, i just like the older bodies more. Just look that truck over really good. i know '97-03' seems a little old but you can find one that looks just as good as an '08 or '09. sometimes with less miles, i search on auto trader in my area and find them starting as low as 45k...mine had 62k on it when i bought it. just check everything out really good and remember the price being super low does'nt always mean its a good deal. get up close and check that thing out top to bottom and inside out.

No matter what year you end up getting, as terms of you possibly buying it, allow them to let you take it to a mechanic that you know and trust and have them do a full workover on it. A little money spent doing that can save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Does the 4.6 have the same cam phaser and spark plug problem in the 04-08 models?
