I went through upgrading my 2018 F150 that I put 295/70 R18 on with the Fox 2.0 Roush Full suspension upgrade about a year ago with the front shocks set from Roush (AKA Fox). This combo with a full size spare and topper brings the truck to have barely a half inch rake, which looks good when empty. But after using my truck like a truck the last year on hunting trips and every day chores, I often noticed whenever I would tow, load a lot of gear in the bed, that I would often be nose high very easy. I'm looking to try to fix this issue by either putting in an add a leaf with roughly a 1.5" rear lift or replace the factory 1.25" block on my truck with a 2.5" block giving it that slight rake to help minimize the squat. I really like the way the truck handles after adding the Roush kit, I know the add a leaf won't make it unbearably stiff I was just curious to hear what others have to say about either of these options to help me keep thinking in circles haha
BTW, in this photo the truck was loaded with hunting gear, giving it that dreaded squat. This made it not as ideal while running mountain roads with a few off road spirts here and there
Not much of a fan of stiffening the rear suspension on these things. I have a build thread called Crazy Soft Suspension Experiments where I put raptor leafs with air bags to be able to tow a 6700 lbs trailer and still have a super plush suspension for two track trail work during hunting season.
At some point here I'm going to put in a 2.25" block in place of the 1.1875" stock one. Rides just a little too low (lower than stock due to the raptor leaf springs)
In the end of the day I'd definitely put a taller block in and not the add a leaf to stiffen it into a higher ride height, but that's just me.
I just put on a set of Air Lift 5000 airbags. This sounds like what you need. It doesn't increase the payload or towing capacity but helps keep things level. When not needed it doesn't affect your ride at all.
