active air dampening shutter causing check engine light?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a used 2022 F-150 PowerBoost (clean Carfax, looked well-maintained on paper) from a certified dealership. Just two days after taking it home, the check engine light came on. Through the FordPass app, I pulled the following codes:
“The powertrain control system has detected a fault with the high voltage system”
“The powertrain control system has detected an internal communication fault”
On the dash, I also briefly got the "stop safely now" warning.
When I checked the alert history in FordPass, I discovered that this truck had seven service engine alerts in July alone, none of which were disclosed to me before purchase.
The dealership looked at it and told me the CEL is coming from the active air-dampening shutter, which they claim is completely missing from the truck.
My questions:
Can a missing active air shutter actually trigger these kinds of CEL alerts?
Has anyone seen this happen on a PowerBoost?
At this point, I’m debating whether to exchange the truck or let them repair it, but I don’t really trust their explanation.
Any input or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

i have in the past disconnected/unplugged both the intercooler shutters and the radiator shutters when experimenting to see differences in cooling never got a check engine light but it will show up as some sort of code on my reader
