Default Abnormal Smell

Last week, I went uphill for 15 to 20km in 4 wheel drive to get to the ski hill. When at the top I smelled something like transmission. Did not over rev the engine, or pull anything. Happened both trips to hill. But no problem going down or driving to and from the area. Have not had any issues since. What should I do? The transmission temperature was at 90c on the digital readout.
F150 5 liter fx4. 2013. With 45,000km.
thanks. Walt

Any fluid leaks? If not I'm thinking maybe the heat is just burning off old oil/grease residue or perhaps you're smelling the coolant vent. Just throwing guesses out there

I get an abnormal smell every time the sister-in-law gets into the truck.
