Ya I learned the extent of my stupidity quite quickly. I was basing my numbers on a passenger vehicle Gas vs. similar displacement diesel. In those cases 50-100 lbs is close. Obviously not here, and for obvious reasons.

EDIT: in any case, how is it you know these weights so well?

Quick search shows 4BT's can get expensive if you look for a "new" one.

Most guys who do 4bt swaps buy an old bread truck, pull the engine, and scrap the rest of the truck to recoup some of their money
