Default 97 cab moved to 98 frame

Hello everyone. I have recently switched my 1997 f150 S/C over to a 98 Frame and engine/Trans. Everything went pretty good except that I had to change the wiring going to the fuel tank and rear lights. The truck runs good but will not shift into any gear and has a flashing OD light.I checked all connections and found nothing. My question is ,are the trans wiring harness the same? I figured that the 98 would be close to the same as 97 but did have a few issues. Do I need to change the harness? I am getting a code of p0707 and again the OD light is blinking. It will not shift into any gear but 1st. I would appreciate any help on this issue. The trans shifted fine on the donor truck before the switch.
Regards dharris

Default 97-98

I've been led to believe by Ford, on another matter, that the '97 and '98 were identical units. I don't know for sure but steps made for any other year than '97-'98 won't fit. So I was told that '97-'98's were a class of their own.

Good Luck.
