Default 95tranny jerks?

i was looking at a 95 f150 the guy was pretty honest with me he said the tranny was just rebuilt and now when it shifts it will jerk into gear and it does this even when it is slowing down u dont have to be giving it any gas or anything, the fluids r all full and new, any ideas? one person told me that it could be the bands ind the auto tranny, they said said they could be too tight is that right or could it be that the tranny is shot? other than that the truckis in great condition, the man wanted $2000 for it but he said since it does this he just wants $800 everything else bout the truck is in great shape

I am not sure about why the tranny would be jerking like that, but the offer to reduce the price by $1200 is about right for a rebuild, at least around me it is. Some others here will be able to address the possible causes and offer some solutions, but I think you will still be taking it to a transmission repair shop.
